Description

  • A dough bowl, or trencher, was used during colonial times to mix bread dough in. These bowls were carved out of wood.

  • Wood has a natural insulation for keeping the yeast warm, so after kneading the dough in the bowl, the dough is covered and allowed to rise and prove before baking.

  • Our dough bowl can also be used to serve up roast dinners or whatever you choose.

  • Our dough bowl has been carved out of a large piece of Macrocarpa and oiled using a two step process.

  • Variations in colour, size, grain, markings and defects give all of our wood products a unique finish and effect. The product you choose to purchase is shown in the photo. If this bowl is not in stock please enquire within, as we take custom orders and requests.
