Description
A dough bowl, or trencher, was used during colonial times to mix bread dough in. These bowls were carved out of wood.
Wood has a natural insulation for keeping the yeast warm, so after kneading the dough in the bowl, the dough is covered and allowed to rise and prove before baking.
Our dough bowl can also be used to serve up roast dinners or whatever you choose.
Our dough bowl has been carved out of Macrocarpa and oiled using a special heated blend of natural food safe oil and beeswax giving maximum penetration and protection
- Our dough bowl also has grooves carved out of the sides making it easy to pick up and transport
- Variations in colour, size, grain, saw cuts, carving marks and defects give all of our wood products a unique finish and effect. If this bowl is not in stock please enquire within, as we take custom orders and requests.
